Reporting to the Program Director the Director of Didactic Education (DDE) participates in all aspects of the development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum. The DDE works with Course Directors in arranging teaching schedules, development of course syllabi, and refinement of educational objectives primarily for the first year courses. The DDE serves as faculty for selected courses such as Physical Diagnosis, Professional Practice, Clinical Workshops, and facilitates educational sessions in the Simulation Center. He/she will also prepare patient scenarios for implementation in the Observed Structured Clinical Encounters (OSCEs). The DDE will serve on the Admissions and Curriculum Committees. He/she will advise and mentor students and participate in all aspects of student recruitment, retention, and academic progression. The DDE will oversee the student Capstone Project for the Program.
