We are looking for a neurosurgery Physician Assistant to join our hospital owned large neurosurgery practice. This position will be to work in colaboration with the supervising physician to give quality treatment, referral and follow-up care. The Physician Assistant will be asked to perform health histories, physical exams, individual and group health education. Also orders diagnostic laboratory tests and radiological tests, including special testing such as CTs, MRIs, ultrasound, and contrast studies with physician approval. Interprets physical findings, lab and x-ray results, makes diagnoses, and formulates and carries out treatment plan, prescribing medication in accordance to state licensing laws. Refers cases to immediate supervising physician when patient conditions require. Provides emergency care to prevent the loss of life, limb or eyesight. Will be asked to institute emergency procedures in accordance with level of training. This position supports clinic function by participating in policy development, operational improvement and the implementation of policies and improvements. This position patient population base with consist of adolescent, adult, and geriatric. The normal business hours will be from Monday through Friday.
NCCPA certification and current Physician Assistant licensure in South Carolina. This is an employed opportunity including a salary commensurate with experience and full hospital benefits. Potential for first assist down the road. Will consider Physician Assistants with neurosurgery, other surgery, emergency medicine, and strong prior acute care experience.

Hiring Physician Assistant PA-C for Pain Management/Urgent Care
Physician Assistants (PA) conduct physical assessments, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat common conditions, provide screenings, interventions, counseling, and prescribe medications as needed to patients in specified age categories. Provide accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of work related injuries and personal injury patients.
This position is responsible for providing and coordinating medical, surgical and other specialty care to patients under the auspices of a supervising physician or the supervising physician’s agent in various settings. This position will provide patient assessments through patient exams, patient medical history, interpretation of required diagnostic procedures, and developing/implementing treatment and management plans.
Essential Functions
Delivers medical care services to patients in urgent care setting in collaboration with the supervising physician or supervising physician agent. Completes procedures under the guidance, supervision, and discretion of the supervising physician and displays competencies required by licensure, scope of practice, credentialing, pertinent statutes, regulations and organizational policy. This includes: obtaining history; performing physical examinations; writing orders; performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; administering intravenous medication; formulating a diagnostic impression; developing and implementing a treatment plan; monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; assessing physiologic and psychological responsiveness; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs.
Plans daily schedule to maximize efficiency of physician and assistant resources.
Will provide medical treatment for work-related and personal injuries cases.
Ensure patient information, visit history, refer outs, lab follow-up, phone calls, and consults are carefully and completely documented in the EMR
Daily use of computer, software programs (EMR), printer, scanner, and credit/debit card equipment
Develop a close working relationship with the medical director at the urgent care clinic location
Minimum Qualifications
Requires state certification and/or licensure in area of practice as required by specialty including current Physician Assistant license and certification in Nevada. Requires current DEA number.
Preferred Qualifications
Two years minimum experience in clinical setting including supervision is preferred Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification also preferred. Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

The PA or PNP would see an estimated volume of 20 patients per day in the clinic with a collaborating physician on-site during clinic hours and EMR. All dues fees and licensure are also covered. The new PA will handle cases involving knees, shoulders, fractures, spine scoliosis, and some cerebral palsy. Also, the PA will handle sports injuries! The new PA will perform procedures as demonstrated through competency. Successful candidate should be NCCPA-certified/eligible, highly-motivated, hard-working, and able to work well with others in a team-oriented environment. The new PA must enjoy working with children and be sensitive to their needs! The group will train new graduates (candidates should have done an orthopaedic rotation and preference for a pediatric rotation). Two Orthopaedic Surgeons with a very well-established and high volume practice seek a full-time Physician Assistant. Their practice has a very strong focus on treating total joint cases, fracture care, and athletic injuries (good volume of knee and shoulders). The position is a combination of the OR and the Clinic! The new PA will provide patient evaluation and education, first assist, injections, reductions, post-op follow-ups, writing scripts, and reviewing lab results in a clinic setting. Successful candidates should be NCCPA-certified, enjoy surgery, confident, and able to work well with others in a team-oriented environment. Candidates need a minimum of 18 months of orthopaedic experience. A call schedule will be worked out with the new PA. Call will be paid! The location is in the great coastal Virginia Beach area. The area is great for the ocean lover and also has numerous amenities (universities, great shopping, trendy boutiques, restaurants, international airport, numerous sports and entertainment attractions, and outdoor pursuits). Compensation: Base salary range is open (depends on experience), plus a production bonus plan. Additionally, there is a full benefits package provided which includes a 401k profit sharing plan.
