Assistant Dean of Faculty Practice and Assistant Professor
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Nursing invites applications from experienced clinical nurse scientists for an Assistant Dean of Faculty Practice position. Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action.
This position is responsible for oversight of college operated clinics, college group practices and individual faculty practices. Specific duties involve assisting faculty in establishing practice sites, establishment of College based practices, maintaining contractual agreements with practice partners, administering the faculty practice plan, assuring that faculty practices operate within all governmental regulatory guidelines, directing the implementation of continuous quality improvement programs and facilitating placement of students in college practice sites.
This individual will have direct or indirect supervisory responsibility for staff that supports the college's practice mission and non-tenure track faculty with clinical appointments. In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment and qualified to assume teaching and supervisory responsibilities of graduate students. Rank and salary commensurate with academic and experiential background.
Position requirements include eligibility for a faculty appointment, successful experience in the oversight of diverse clinical practice sites that include advance practice nurses, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary environments, and a working knowledge and ability to navigate the financial and administrative waters surrounding advanced practice nursing. Our College of Nursing also had one of the earliest organized faculty practices and offers an incentive plan for faculty who practice as well as those who engage in externally funded research.
