The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa Department of Surgery, Division of Pediatric Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to assist the Pediatric Surgery faculty and house staff physicians with admissions, pre and post-operative management, surgeries, education and research endeavors. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree is required. Master's degree in nursing is preferred. If Master's is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required. Current license to practice nursing in Iowa. Current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa is required. Demonstrated experience in area of clinical practice. Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of ability to function with a high degree of independence while actively collaborating with health care members providing care for highly complex pediatric patients. Previous patient care experience or training in pediatric surgery or critical care. Demonstrated experience in are of clinical care performing history and physical exams. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with procedures such as performing histories and physicals and pre-operative evaluation of pediatric surgical patients, clinical follow-ups, assisting with advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures in the operating room and bedside procedures is highly desired. Ability to work well in a team environment. Previous operating room experience or training. Experience with multi-disciplinary process improvement. St. Francis/Blue Island, Illinois Hospital Physician Assistant Primary Care Metro Infectious Disease Consultants L.L.C. is accepting applications for Physician Assistant positions located within the Chicagoland area. The PA will work with the collaborating Primary Care Physician in St. Francis/Blue Island, Illinois Hospital, in an active inpatient practice to deliver health care services to our patients. This includes, but is not limited to, the diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic health problems, ordering, interpreting and performing laboratory and radiology tests, prescribing medications, including controlled substances, to the extent delegated, and performing other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated. The Physician Assistant shall consult with the collaborating physician by telecommunication or in person as needed. In the absence of the designated collaborating physician, another physician shall be available for consultation.
