Physician Assistant Diagnostic & Interventional Imaging The University of Texas Medical School at Houston Houston, Texas The Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Imaging is expanding their neuro-interventional services at Memorial Hermann Hospital, located in the Texas Medical Center. We are currently seeking two qualified Physician Assistants to join our team. Working in collaboration with our neuro-interventional radiologists or vascular interventional radiologists, the selected candidates will coordinate and facilitate the delivery of patient care; manage the patient/procedure data entry into the service’s database; and develop new neuro-internventional consults. The PA is a key member of the interdisciplinary team, and as such, works with multiple clinical services (i.e., Neuroradiology, ICU staff, Neurology, Neurosurgery, ENT, Ophthalmology, etc.) for efficient patient management. Additionally, the candidates must be comfortable with managing critical care patients and working with their families. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree is required. Master's degree in nursing is preferred. If Master's is in a related field, a Baccalaureate degree in nursing is required. Current license to practice nursing in Iowa. Current certification in specialty area and licensure as ARNP in state of Iowa is required. Demonstrated experience in area of clinical practice. Evidence of excellent written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of ability to function with a high degree of independence while actively collaborating with health care members providing care for highly complex pediatric patients. Previous patient care experience or training in pediatric surgery or critical care. Demonstrated experience in are of clinical care performing history and physical exams. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with procedures such as performing histories and physicals and pre-operative evaluation of pediatric surgical patients, clinical follow-ups, assisting with advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures in the operating room and bedside procedures is highly desired. Ability to work well in a team environment. Previous operating room experience or training. Experience with multi-disciplinary process improvement. The PA will work with the collaborating Primary Care Physician in St. Francis/Blue Island, Illinois Hospital, in an active inpatient practice to deliver health care services to our patients.
