DaVita

AZ: Feeling Good in Phoenix (AFF-394/ 407ML)

A well-established and highly successful group nephrology practice is
expanding to provide health care to individuals who have chronic kidney
disease (CKD) and end stage renal disease (ESRD). This practice seeks a
Nurse Practitioner to care for patients in 5-6 clinic locations on the
east side of Phoenix. You will enjoy the freedom to work from home with
a company provided laptop and cell phone. You will join an existing team
of three Nurse Practitioners and have the support of a staff that is courteous
and professional.

Phoenix is America’s fifth largest city covering 514 square miles with
a population of 1.4 million and a marketplace valued at over $50 billion.
The greater metropolitan area is a growing metropolis of more than 3.4
million.  The population is young, educated, multi-cultural, and upwardly
mobile. In the heart of downtown Phoenix is Copper Square, a 90 square
block district that is alive with activity both day and night.  Numerous
fine restaurants, art galleries, museums, and Chase Field, home of the
Arizona Diamondbacks are just a few of its many attractions.  The
greater Phoenix area is rich in art and culture blending a diverse tapestry
of African, Anglo, Asian, Hispanic, Mexican, and Native American influences.

Exceptional weather conditions allow residents to enjoy a wide range
of outdoor recreational activities including golfing on more than 200 courses.
There are typically 325 sunny days per year! For those who would rather
watch, Phoenix boasts several world class sports teams and the city will
be hosting Super Bowl XLII in 2008.  If your passion is shopping there
are fabulous malls, unique boutiques, and antique shops in which to indulge.
There is something for everyone here, whether you want to stay busy or
simply relax and pamper yourself.

Phoenix is home to many parks and recreational areas including the Castles
N’ Coasters Amusement Park and South Mountain Amusement Park which is the
world’s largest municipal park on 16,500 acres.  All together there
are more than a dozen parks in the area.  Popular activities in the
Sonoran Desert and surrounding mountains include hiking, biking, mountain
climbing and horseback riding.

Although this is a desert climate, many are surprised that there are
seven lakes within a reasonable distance for water recreation.  Sightseeing
tours and hot-air balloon rides are also popular activities. Phoenix residents
enjoy a warm, arid southwestern climate.  Typically there are more
than 325 sunny days and only about 7 ½ inches of rain each year.
The average high temperature is 85 degrees and the average low is 59 degrees.
Due to the low humidity, even some of the warmest days feel more comfortable
than some cities in the Midwest and Southeast.

Arizona State University in Tempe is the main institution of higher
learning in the area.  It is one of the largest public universities
in the U.S. with over 64,000 students and four satellite campuses in the
Phoenix area.  The University of Phoenix, the nation’s largest private,
for-profit university with 130,000 students is also headquartered here.
Both public and private K-12 schools provide academic excellence with options
for the academically gifted student, the athlete, and the artist!
